Sunday writing (rebelling against the Artist's Way)
I have been thinking I should update this blog. I have been blog silent for a few weeks. I have been wanting to share, but not feeling as much of a rush to post. Perhaps this is the effect of living in the wilderness between London and the coast.
I am now in the middle of writing an article. This involves listening to music, writing blog posts, and having ninety nine different tasks from the administration of living come remind me of their need for completion. This is fine. I might have spent some time trying to clear my mind to focus on one article, but I never work that way in practise if I am trying to be creative.
Though I have used the Artist's Way morning pages today, I have basically forgotten about them during the week. I was beginning to feel writing three pages a day to be restrictive to my creativity, rather than encouraging it's flow. Being told to write three pages, by hand, every morning, just feels the opposite of what would make me sit down and be creative, and so hence forth I have rebelled from the Artist's Way, and I am doing it my own way. Morning pages are a type of prayer; essentially writing is a type of prayer, and we all have to do it out own way.
I am striking out.
