Going Forward...
This is the not the end of YALP, myself and my companions have just entered the first stage of our experience. The blog will go on (and on, like the love song from Titanic, a film I refuse to watch). There is so much I have enjoyed and can take away from YALP, in terms of practical knowledge and understanding, but there is also the preciousness of finding joy in the spirit, being affirmed in one's gifts and talents, and having a community of supportive individuals around you. It is all a girl could want, and after a rough patch in life, probably something I really needed.
It was hard leaving the beauty of Woodbrooke for the urban mass that is London, but life does go on, and I am excited about applying what I have learnt and having more new Quaker like ideas. I made a start on doing the exercises from a life writing book. So far I have been asked what my writing self and active self look like. As I have no clue, I picked to draw an owl for my writing self, and Mr Rabbit as my active self...I suppose it is early days in regards to adding (or maturing) the spiritual dimension to my writing.
...
On the way home I also had a little research into James Nayler, trying to figure out the context to the 'awkward apple', gesture. I found a good song about his suffering, and an article considering the topic of 'suffering love.' James Nayler suffered, you can't make a joke out of that, and Richard Rich apparently held him (all his other friends had abandoned him) as he suffered, and was tender, and this is love that suffers. I think my interest in Quakerism and early friends will continue, and the drama of the First Friend's will unfold before me. I seem to be ready to receive it.
In regards to the blog, I shall update this blog with my musings on YALP, and all things of the spirit, as and when they come to me.
As and when I am lead.
